How to check the crane machine wire rope

The wire rope is the main force-bearing part of the crane machine. If the wire rope breaks during the operation, serious consequences may result, resulting in equipment damage and casualties. In order to ensure the safe use of the wire rope, it is necessary to regularly check and record the wire rope of the crane machine.

When inspecting the crane machine wire rope, in addition to manual visual inspection, the caliper can be used for diameter measurement, or electromagnetic non-destructive testing can be used to check the internal condition of the wire rope.

When inspecting, first check the diameter of the wire rope, and judge whether it has experienced a large impact load or the like by the change of the diameter;

Then, check the degree of wear of the wire rope, and the LMA can be inspected by means of electromagnetic non-destructive testing to determine the bearing capacity of the wire rope;

Check the number of broken wires of the wire rope, within one lay length, if the wire rope has reached the scrapping standard, should be replaced;

Finally, the wire rope should be lubricated, and grease should be added as needed to prevent corrosion and rust and reduce friction, so as to extend the service life of the wire rope.
